Watercolour Dragonfly Splatter

Hey Everyone! I am back with another card to share with all of you!  I mentioned in my last post that I was going to be sharing a lot of the Thank You cards that I have been putting together for some orders that I'm working my way through. 

The idea for this card came from a card that I had seen on pinterest.  I loved the splatter look on that card, and knew I could create something similar for the card that I was going to be creating.  

I really love how this card turned out.  I love the simplicity of the stamping and the wording, and the tone on tone with the splatter look from the 3 colours of ink I used.  This is a technique that I haven't used that much in the past, but its certainly one that I intend on using again in the future!

Hedgehog Thank You

Hey Everyone!  I hope that you are all well.  I have been working my way through some orders that I have gotten from friends and family, so you will be seeing a lot of Thank You cards over the next several posts.  One can never have enough thank you cards on hand!

For these card...yes thats right I made a couple of these cards, and both are slightly different, so I will share both with you. I just had to used one of my most favourite images.  I just think that this little Hedgehog is so cute.  I started with the pattern paper that you will see in the background and coloured the image to match the papers.

Christmas Card Challenges #4

Hey There!  I hope that all of you are staying warm and able to be creative to try and chase away the winter blues.  For those of you that live in warmer climates, please know that I am incredibly jealous!  

Im back with another card for Christmas Card Challenges #4. 

You need to join us over there, we have so much fun with the challenges, and I continue to be blown away by the cards that are entered. 

The design team is fabulous and I love creating alongside them!

Here's the challenge...

This card was one that was incredibly challenging for me to come up with and design.  I often find it difficult to create a card with gold in it because its not a favourite colour at all.  The inspiration image also made it difficult because there were so many directions that I could have gone with it.  Additionally I didn't think I had any stamps that would work well for it, until I started flipping through my book of stamps, and discovered that actually I had many stamps that would be fitting so along came the challenge of choosing what to do.

Finally I settled on a stamp that I have never used before, and knew that I had gold paper that would compliment it nicely.  

I stamped the image twice and coloured both slightly different, and the image that I chose was actually the one that I initially didn't like...funny how it happens that way.

Its a good sign that you shouldn't ever throw anything out while the creative process is happening because you just never know.  I ended up using both on the front of cards, and made 2 cards instead of 1.

I'll first show your the card that I entered into the challenge, but I will then also show you the second card that I created too.  I would love to know which one you like better.

Monochromatic Flowers

Hey Everyone!  I hope that you aren't getting to sick of me already. I hope that you are going to be seeing a lot more of me in the days to come.  

With the New Year comes Resolutions for a New You.  I don't make personal resolutions, but I do make crafty resolutions.

This year my resolutions are this:

1. Post twice as many blog posts and cards as you did the year before.

2. Play along with more challenges.

3. Ensure that I have enough Christmas cards made that each and every person special to me gets a Christmas card this year. (since I didn't hand out a single handmade Christmas card this past Christmas)

4. Celebrate - A couple years ago I wanted to ensure that each person important to me got a special card for their special day, but it never happened so my goal this year is to ensure that I make cards all year long so that I can celebrate peoples birthdays with them!

5. ATC.  Figure out how to create a mini gallery for my ATC cards that I am creating for a group that I am part of so that all of you can see them.

There are a couple more, but I guess you are going to have to wait to see what 2017 brings for Amanda Fluri Designs (possibly a website?!...we'll see).

I hope that each and every one of you had time to reflect on the ups and downs of 2016 and that each and every one of you make a goal to become a better you in 2017.

Watercolour Lilies - Thank You Card

Hey Everyone!  I just wanted to stop by to share another card with you.  

I have been working on a couple of different orders for customers which have a variety of types of cards in them.

Today I want to share a Thank You Card which is part of the orders.  

As I mentioned in a previous post I am currently obsessed with watercolour techniques and watercolour effects and I am totally loving colouring with various water colour mediums.  I love how these flowers turned out.

I also really like how versatile this stamp is.  It can be used for so many occasions (Mother's Day, Sympathy, Easter, Thinking of You, Get Well Soon, Happy Birthday, Thank you, etc).  This stamp is so nice and large that it really is the focal point of each card that it is on.

Daredevil Christmas Card

Hey Everyone!  It's me I'm back again, and I am excited to be sharing another Christmas Card with you.  I was asked by a dear friend to create a couple special Christmas cards for some very special people in her life.  I designed the Linus card which you can see here, as well as this card. 

This one was a challenge since I know nothing about comic book figures/heros/villians, etc.  I had my friend walk me through who she was wanting on the card, and she sent me an image to help me understand a bit better what she was looking for.  She provided me with the wording that she wanted on the card too.  

I am very happy about how this card turned out and am very excited that I didn't use traditional Christmas colours on this card, and how different it ended up being.  I truly hope that the recipient of this card really liked it and that it helped to make her Christmas a little brighter!

Christmas Card Challenges #3

Hey Everyone!  I have been doing much better with posting more frequently now that the holiday madness is mostly over.  I trust that each of you had a great holiday and I hope that each and every one of you have the most amazing year.  I pray 2017 is your best year yet!

I'm sad to admit it but this year I didn't hand out 1 handmade Christmas Card, because I didn't have enough in my stash for everyone, so didn't think it fair that only some people got handmade cards and that others didn't.

That's why I am so grateful to be on the Design Team for Christmas Card Challenges, because its going to force me to get all my Christmas Cards done this year so that everyone of my family and friends can receive a handmade card from me.

I struggled quite a bit with this challenge, because I wasn't sure what to use with the colour scheme.  I was thrilled though that my Christmas gift from my amazing boyfriend would really help with this challenge, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the way that this card turned out.  Not to mention that playing with new goodies is always a good time.  Its all I want to do currently is just play with my new goodies!

I love how these images, and sentiments could be used to create a variety of scenes and winter scenes, and how you can use them for other seasons too.
