Stocking Tags

Thank you for stopping by!  I am excited to be back to share with you something this isn't a card.
I know that this is a couple months late, but better late than never.
Last year around Christmas time we got new stocking for the fireplace so that they all matched.  They were super mismatched before, so my parents thought that some unison would look more put together.  The only trouble with this was that last Christmas we had a hard time deciphering which one belonged to whom, so I decided to make some cute tags for them so that everyone knew who's was who's, until we can hopefully get them embossed this coming Christmas.  I am very proud of the way that the tags turned out, and how pretty they look on the fireplace hanging on the stockings.

Here's a look at all of them...Yes you're seeing that right even our fur babies (Dice and Smokey) have stockings...

Here's a close up of my boyfriends tag...

Here's all of them attached to their stockings hanging on the fire place...Smokey needs a new stocking next year as little Zoe will be using his from now on!...

To finish them all off and to ensure that they last I tossed them through my laminator to help protect them from bending, and falling apart because of the heat of the fire place.  Everyone was very happy with how they turned out.

Supplies Used

Hole Punch - used to punch a hole in the top of the tag to put the string through
Ranger Matte Medium - used to adhere the snowflake to the tag front
Double Sided Tape - used to attach the pattern paper to the tag front
Cuttlebug Machine - used with the dies to cut a couple different pieces of the tags
MFT Snowflake Die - used to cut out the snowflakes on the tag front
MFT Tag Die - used to cut out the tag (not an exact product, but cannot find the one I used without the pierced boarders)
White Ribbon - used to attach the tags to the stockings

Peel Off Borders - used between the 2 pattern papers to soften the transition from one to the other
Silver Letters - used to put names on the tags (no the exact product that I used, but linked to something similar)
White Cardstock - used for the base of the tag
Red Shimmer Paper - used to cut the snowflake out of
Recollection - Sugar Plum Papers - used for the pattern papers for the front of the tag (cannot find a link for this product, however I purchased it at Michaels Canada)

Hey Everyone!  Thanks for stopping by to check out another one of my cards.  This card is a very special one.  Anytime you get to make cards for a 96th Birthday is incredible honour.  I look forward to making her a card for each of her birthdays.  It's a thing Ive been doing for my Grandma for her last 6 birthdays, and I can't wait to make her one next year too!

This card was a great one!  As I made this card and was trying to decide how to put this onto the card front, I realized that the number is the same both ways.  But finally I decided on this way!

I also thought that it would be a good time to play along with the Seize the Birthday Challenge, so I entered this card in that challenge.

This weeks challenge is:

This colour scheme is amazing!  When I first saw it I knew right away that I had a paper pack that would match these colours perfectly, and from there my card was born.  Its not often that I create a card with no stamping, so I thought that I would take advantage of this and use no stamping for this card for a change.

As I was putting the order together I looked through to see what colours I had lots of cards created in, and designed this card around colours that there weren't as many done in.  I love this stamp, and haven't designed a lot of cards with it, so thought it was a perfect to use it for this card.

I started this card with the papers (all of which are scraps), and coloured the image around that.  I am very happy with the way this card turned out!

Birthday Text

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping to see what I've been up to.  I am so excited to share another card with you.  I put this card together for a couple orders, and had a couple things in mind when creating this card.
1. I wanted to create a card entirely out of scraps.
2.  I wanted to use the colour combo Black and Blue
3. I needed for this card to be for a male, however it ended up that this card could really be used for either gender.

But....I am still very happy with the way the card turned out, and I really had fun playing with a stamp set that I haven't used on a card before.

Helicopter Birthday

Hey Everyone!  Thank you so much for stopping by, I am back to share with you another Birthday Card.  I mentioned a couple weeks back that you would be seeing many Birthday cards over the next several weeks, and well it doesn't look like its going to stop anytime soon.  I have been working on a card order for a couple people and here's one of the Birthday cards that are in it.

If you follow my blog you know how much I love to design with scraps, and well this card is made completely out of scraps.  The Helicopter was already coloured, and mounted to the paper, and in my scrap drawer, and the card base already had the embossed pattern attached to it, so I thought they would work perfectly together.  I finished it off with a bow and the sentiment and done.  I really like the simplicity of this card, yet how masculine it is!

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side of the card...

Supplies Used

Unfortunately because this card was made out of scraps, and I have no idea what embossing folder, or which company's stamp this is or even what I coloured it with, and the ink that was used for the edging, I won't be listing the supplies used!

Thanks for stopping by to check in and see whats new.  Can't wait to share something new with you tomorrow hopefully.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #394 and Bellarific Friday Challenge

Hey Everyone!  I am back to share another card with you today.  As I had mentioned in a past post I have been trying to play along with some of my favourite challenges, and I had the chance again this week to play along with the Bellarific Friday one.

The challenge over at Stamping Bella was to use a current Stamping Bella stamp on the card, and die cut some element of the card!  This was easy as their stamps are one of the staples in my collection and the majority of my cards have a die cut element so this one was EASY!

The other challenge that I played along with was the one over at Cupcake Inspirations and I took the colours from this photo to inspire my card.

When I combined these two themes together I created a beautiful card!

Christmas Card Challenges #6

Hey Everyone!  Thank you so much for stopping by to see my card!
I am so excited to be designing alongside so many fantastic inspirational women at Christmas Card Challenges.  This weeks challenge was a very difficult one for me because I didn't own any stamps or have die cuts of anything that I would have been able to use for the challenge.  The design teams cards are so amazing that they really had me thinking and kept challenging.  I was totally stumped, until I started looking into digital stamps.  Its something I haven't used in a very long time, and maybe only used once or twice before previously, but I was able to find something that would work perfectly for this challenge.

Here's the challenge this week over at Christmas Card Challenges...

Kraft and Green - Boys Birthday Card

Hey There!  Thanks for stopping in to see whats going on at Amanda Fluri Designs.  I have been very busy designing and working on card orders.  The weather here in Canada is finally starting to feel like winter.  I live in the Niagara Area of Ontario, and we have had some beautiful weather, and its been hard to believe its winter, but now that I think winter has found us I find myself at my desk a lot more and losing track of time, and just designing.  I am so blessed that I have my scrap nook to retreat to and just design...(I know I promised pictures of it a while back...this is still something I plan on doing, so keep watch for pictures soon!)

Anyways, back to the card at hand.  In one of my more recent posts, I talk about scraps, and my outlook on them.  I think every single card that I make has a scrap of something on it.  I love to create with them.  This card similar to the other one (in the post that I talk about scraps) is made completely out of scraps.  I stamped this image a LONG time ago, and it has been sitting in my scrap drawer for years...same with the sentiment.  The background I embossed to finish off the card, and the little corners are also scraps.  I thought that I would pull them all together to design something masculine for a male birthday and this is what I came up with.

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side of the card...

Supplies Used...

Because this card was made out of scraps there are a lot of the pieces that I am unsure what the product is, and which company it belongs to, so for this card there won't be a supplies used list.

If there is a specific product that you are wanting more information on, please comment below and I'll do my best to locate it or link to something similar for you!

Thanks again for stopping by. Please leave me some love below! I will be back very soon with some other cards, and ATC fun to share with all of you!

December ATC 2016

Hey Y'all it's me again!  I am back to share with you my December ATC which I sent out to the ladies in my ATC Trading group.  I think I have mentioned how much fun I am having, but it is true.  I really am having a blast playing with stamps that I haven't touched in a while, and using different techniques and colour combos.

I thought that because Christmas is in December I wanted to do something Christmasy, and I wanted to use some scraps while doing so.  The background on this ATC is from my scrap box and I had enough to do all 8 ATCs for December with it.  I used scraps of white card stock to stamp this little reindeer too as well, and added some fun little sprinkles to finish it off.

Here's my December ATC...

November ATC 2016

Hey Everyone!
I am back again, but this time not with a card to share with you.  I wanted to quickly share with you some of my ATCs.  I am part of an ATC trading group, and you send an ATC when you receive and ATC.  Each month I make a new one, and try to make it themed to either the season, or the holiday of that month.

At first when I was asked to be part of this trading group I wasn't sure what ATCs were and what they should look like, so I looked some up online, and it became clear that really its very similar to a card.

The dimensions are 2 1/2 x 3 1/3, and thats basically the only criteria for them.  I know that there is a very large community of ATC creators, so if you are coming across my post and are one of these people I would love some feedback and guidance so that I can work at improving my designs (even though Im pretty proud of my designs currently).

Here's my November ATC.

Sailboat Males Birthday Card

Hey Everyone!  I am back to share yet another Birthday card with you.  I hope that you aren't getting bored of the Birthday cards already, because there are a TON more coming your way.  There are a couple other things coming too like Monthly ATCs, fertility cards, and a couple more sympathy cards.

A lot of you who follow my blog know my feelings on scraps...If you are new to my blog my outlook on scraps are...use them!  Do whatever possible to use up things you have stamped previously, possibly cut and embossed previously, etc.  Use the things!  They were maybe not appropriate for the card that you were currently creating, but they do deserve their moment on the card.

This card was made out of all scraps.  The embossed blue paper was previously embossed, and the sailboat was previously stamped and coloured...and I decided that I could make them work perfectly together, and VOILA!  I am very happy with the simplicity of this card, and really like that it can be used for either male or female (even though I intended it for a male).

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the back of the card...

Supplies Used...

Because this card was made out of scraps there are a lot of the pieces that I am unsure what the product is, and which company it belongs to, so for this card there won't be a supplies used list.

Neutral Leaf Sympathy Card

Hey Everyone!  Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog.  I am excited to be back to share another card with you!  Today I am going to share with you a Sympathy Card.  These are some of the most difficult cards to make, and that's why I always find it easiest to have some on hand for the difficult moments that you need to send one.  This card is for one of the orders that I am working on completing, however I made a second one for my stash because it's easier to be able to reach for one then create one on the spot when its needed.

When I create sympathy cards I find that I have a large tendency to gravitate towards neutrals and softer more subtle colours.  I also tend to create in more a botanical, or floral type theme.  I want to create something beautiful but not something over the top as I realize that this is a difficult thing for everyone involved.  My hope is that the recipient finds even a little bit of extra comfort knowing that someone is thinking about them, and took the extra time and love to put into a handmade card for them.

This is a sympathy card layout that I have used in the past, the stamps that I used for this one however I haven't used before for this type of card.  The card itself is pretty flat and single layered, but like I said before I like to keep these cards very subtle and not to crazy.

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side of the card...

Mojo Monday #483

Hey Everyone!  Thanks for taking a moment to spend with me.  I want to share with you a Birthday Card that I made for part of a card order that I am working on putting together.  I mentioned a couple posts ago that I am going to be sharing with you a bunch of various birthday cards with you, so here's another one!

I thought that it would be fun to play along with a challenge over at Mojo Monday that I haven't had the chance to play along with for quite some time.  It felt so good to join in the fun again and use a sketch to help me create the card.

Here's the challenge here...

I started with colouring this image as I knew that it was something that I wanted on the birthday card and then selected papers to match.  I paper pieced the chair, and coloured in parts of the design with a thin black pen to give it some dimension and interest.  I tried to keep the colouring very simple as the papers that I chose were pretty wild.

Here's the front of the card...
