Christmas Card Challenges #24

Hi Y'all!  The weather here is beautiful and I am loving the cooler weathers here in Ontario, Canada.  It makes me want to get back into my scrapbook and create some more cards for you all to check out.  I am excited to be back to share another card with you.
I have been battling my Vertigo the last couple weeks so haven't been able to sit here and type much of anything.  I am working hard to move past the dizziness.
Anyways....

I am excited to share with you the card that I created for our fantastic challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I love this weeks challenge.  I love to design in these colours (traditional colours...surprise, surprise.)

Here's the challenge...

Here's the front of my card...

Here's the side of my card...

Christmas is very quickly approaching, and I feel as though I don't have enough cards made to pass out, so because I love this design so much, and I love how it uses up a ton of scraps, and supplies that I had on hand, I thought I would make multiples.

Supplies Used

Paper Trimmer - used to trim down the card base, and the pattern papers
EK Success Tweezers - used to help tie the bow, and also to position the sprinkles
Mono Multi Glue - used to attach the oval pieces of paper to the card front
Double Sided Tape - used to attach the rectangular pattern papers to the card base
Ranger Matte Medium - used to hold the bow in place
Cuttlebug Machine - used with the dies to cut the ovals and the wording
MFT Stitched Oval Dies - used to cut out the pattern papers into ovals
Clearly Besotted Merry Christmas Die Set - used to cut out the wording for the card front (cannot find a link to this product - it may not be available anymore)
Doodlebug Sprinkles - used to help embellish the front of this card
Red Ribbon -  used to add a different texture to the card front
Gold Card Stock - used to cut the words out for the card front
White Card Stock - used for the card base
Acorn Paper and Woodgrain Paper - both papers used on this card (Recollections Winter Woodland Paper Pack - purchased at Michaels Canada - cannot find a link online for this)
Red/White/Green Paper Pack - used as the main background on the card base, and the largest oval (The Paper Studio - Holiday Cheer Package - Purchased at Hobby Lobby - cannot find a link for this product).

There are some other red and white OR green and white pattern papers that were pieces from my scrap box so I don't have links to all of this paper.

Christmas Card Challenges #22

Hey All.  I know its been a little while since I've posted anything on here.
Things have been insane at work...Ive been working a temp position to help out, but I never thought it would lead to a full time position.  I now am working a lot better hours so that means I get a lot more time back to do the things that I love.  Blogging and making cards.

I looked at my stash of Christmas cards, and if you are like me you need to join us at Christmas Card Challenges to start building your stash so that you have cards to pass out this year.  I am starting to scramble, because I don't know if I will have enough.

This is our new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  You have 2 weeks to play along with us, and you can use this challenge as inspiration otherwise or as long as you enter a Christmas Cards thats okay too!

I decided it's been a while since I've done a rustic card, that this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

Here's the front of my card...

Here's a side view of the card...

The lighting is a little bit funny in these pictures, however I did clear emboss over the image.  I put it in the freezer to get cold, and then did a 2nd and 3rd layer.  Once I had cooled the 3rd layer I took it and cracked the embossing, and smooshed in some ink to make it look like an old tattered picture.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.  I wish that I had a Misti Tool so that I could have stamped the sentiment a couple more times to make it darker, but Im working with what I've got currently.

Thank you for stopping by, and Ill be back really soon with some more creations.

Please leave some love below in the comment section.

Christmas Card Challenges #17

Hey Everyone!  I've missed you all very very much!
It's been a while since Ive created something new, but I am excited to be back at it.  Its quite the process getting your hand strength back after a surgery and some of the complications that I have been through.  I am just so thankful to be able to feel my fingers again, and that slowly I'm feeling like I'm getting back on track.

I am beyond blessed that I get to design along some of the most incredibly talented women over at Christmas Card Challenges.

This weeks challenge is:

I found this challenge slightly difficult to play along with because there were so many directions that I could have gone with this.   I was really inspired about the shape of the sentiment, and the colours of the wording "MERRY," and this is where I began!  As many of you know I love to create my cards in traditional Christmas colours, so this was fun to break away from.

As some of you may know I often make at minimum 2 of each of the cards because it helps me build my stash/stock of Christmas/Holiday cards.  I don't know why I didn't start doing this years ago.  Its incredible watching my stash grow and expand.

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side view of the card...

Happy First Birthday Zoe!

Welcome to Amanda Fluri Designs!  This is my special space where I get to share my creations with you.  My hope is that they inspire some creativity in each of you that stumble upon my space.  Thank you for stopping by!

In my last post I shared the Birthday Party Invite that I created for my Niece's First Birthday, and this is the card that Shane and I gave her with her gift on her birthday.  Her birthday was at the end of May, and because my surgery was at the beginning of May, I created this card a couple weeks prior so that I could ensure she got a very special card for her First Birthday!

I cant believe my sweet little Zoe is already ONE!  Honestly time goes to fast, and I wish that it would slow down a tad.  It's amazing that when you are younger you want time to speed up and it seems to remain very slow, but as you get older time flies, and all you want it to do is slow down!

Here's the card we gave Zoe for her birthday...

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side view of the card...

Supplies Used

The supplies used for this card are the same as the supplies used for this card!  I considered posting the list again, and then decided that it was silly that I would just link to the other post.

I did use Black Letter Stickers for this card to personalize it and the sentiment is from the same set as the other sentiment from the other supply list.

Thank you for stopping by again.  There probably won't be many cards posted over the next couple days, because I posted a lot more today than I think that I was going to.  I would love if you would leave me some comment love!  Cant wait to be back again to share more with you soon!

Zoe's First Birthday Invite

Hey Y'all.  Apparently I just couldn't stay away, so here I am back to share another card/invitation with you all.  I was honoured to be asked to create this card for my little Niece's first Birthday Party.  My sister wanted to have an under the sea theme, and this stamp set was absolutely perfect for this.  I used colours that are part of the theme of the party.  I only created one of these invites, as the people who were invited were done so either through facebook or because they are immediate family they already had knowledge about it.   Ashley (my sister) then asked for us all to sign inside the invite with our well wishes for Zoe, so that she could add this to her keepsake book so that she has it to look back on in years to come.

I cannot believe it's already been a year since she was born.  I remember the day of her birth so vividly.  Watching her grow is so much fun, but part of me wishes she was little forever because the cuddles are never the same as they grow up.

Here's the invitation that I created for her Birthday Party...

Mother's Day Cards

Yes I am back again!  Im here to share with you the mother's day cards that I put together.  Lately I have been creating only 2 of the same design, not many multiples, but I was pretty pressed for time before my surgery so I created 3 cards very similar for Mother's Day!  I know...I too wanted to make each Mom a different one, but like I said I was pressed for time this year, so it just couldn't happen...there's always next year.

I based this design off of my Grandma's 95th birthday card design.  I loved how her card turned out, and thought that I would do something similar again.

Christmas Card Challenges #13

Hey everyone!  I am so glad to be back again!  I hope you are all enjoying seeing the things that I was working on prior to my surgery and that you are being inspired some way by them to design something beautiful too!

This was from the last challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  I was unable to post it until now because I have only been using talk to text programs and until yesterday I wasn't able to move my fingers enough to type on this blog.  I guess better late than never.

Here's the challenge...

I created these cards ahead of time so that I could still fulfill my Design Team Duties while off.  This upcoming week however I won't have a card for the challenge, as I am not cleared to get back to card making yet, and don't want to push myself to hard, and delay my recovery.  I cannot wait to be back at it again!

Here's the front of my card...

Here's the side of the card...

I thought with this challenge that I would do something non traditional again.  Apparently that has been my thing lately, to think outside the box and go against the traditional Christmas ideas and change it up.  I love how this turned out, and think that its simple and so classy.  This card can be quickly mass produced if you are looking for something that you can assemble production line style.  The die that I used is still very new so it was quite the challenge to get the paper out of the die, but it was TOTALLY worth the time and patience that I took to do so.  Maybe it was the wine that gave me patience, who know...hehehe.

Supplies Used

Paper Trimmer - used to cut the card base, and the pattern paper
Tim Holtz Scissors - used to cut the ribbon on the card front
EK Success Tweezers - used to help tie the bow on the wreath
Bone Folder - used to fold and crease the card base
Exacto Knife - used to help position the gems on the card front

Glue Dots - used to attach the bow to the wreath
Cuttlebug Machine - used with the die to cut out the snowflake wreath
Joy Crafts - Winter Wishes - the die used for the wreath (unable to find a link for this product)
Blue Gems - used to help embellish the wreath and card itself
Ribbon - used for the bow on the card (not an exact link to the product used, but this is the company that I purchased it through.  It's not listed online, but it is their product)
Ribbon - used for the string to hang the wreath
All Seasons II Pattern Paper - used for the background on the card front (not an exact link to the product used, but linked to another edition of the paper pack that I used)
White Cardstock - used for the card base
Blue Cardstock - used to die cut the wreath out of

Thanks for stopping by!  I really appreciate your support, and would love to know what you'd like more of in the future!  Please leave some comments below!

Christmas Card Challenges #12

Welcome back!  I am so glad that you are here again!  I know I said I'd be taking things slowly, but once I started typing I just can't seem to stop.  I guess I must really have missed posting and not doing anything for the last 4 weeks!  I am so excited to be on the mend and to be able to get back to doing the things I love without pain!  Still no new designs for the next couple weeks, but I am going to get my blog back on track and you're going to see some new to you designs!

This card is from a couple weeks back...here's the challenge that it was for.

I loved this photo, however I wanted to create a card without gold.  It's honestly one of my personal challenges, as I don't like the look of yellow gold...a lot of you who follow my blog know that!

Here's the card that I created for this challenge.  I am not sure what happened to the side view image of this card.

Here's the front of the card...

I love that while there are traditional colours that I used on this card there are also untraditional elements.  I am so happy that the focal point ended up being this old fashioned red truck.  I love this stamp and am reminded every time I use it how much I love it!

March ATC 2017

Hey Everyone!  I am so happy to be here to share with you one of my newer ATCs.  I have been having to hold off sharing them as I want to ensure that everyone in my group has received them incase they follow along with my blog, I didn't want to ruin the surprise.

I am very much enjoying creating these little gems and am loving creating something small, and playing with many various techniques.  I love that there really are NO rules other than the size parameters.  Right now I am having fun creating something for the theme/holiday of the current month which the ATC will be used for.

A lot of the ladies in the trading group that I am part of have already received their May ATCs, so I thought that it was a good time to share them with you!

I initially wanted to do something that was flat and pretty one dimensional, however I just couldn't do it!  I love how it turned out, and love the wording!  In the past I have been doing the same pretty much all the same ATC but this time I thought that I would change it up and do a variety of colours to keep things interesting.  I am very happy how they turned out...and the biggest shocker of all no gems or doodlebug sprinkles.

Happy Birthday from Zoe

Welcome back!  I know you are all probably very sick of me by now, but I am just going to continue to post.  I found a groove and am determined to get these cards posted before the end of the day today.  I believe I have 2 or 3 cards still to post.

I would love if you guys could please let me know what you are thinking of the cards that I have posted thus far on my blog.  I take a lot of time to do them, and it would be nice to have some feedback so I can use it to plan future cards.

I thought it would be super nice to create a card from my niece to give to my sister on her birthday.  I had a stamp that I have been dyeing to use, so this was a great excuse to use it, and I knew that it would be perfect.  The image is just the sweetest, and I was exactly what I was going for! I am soooooo looking forward to this weekend, and I hope that each of you are going to get to spend time with your family over the Easter Holidays.  I hope that the little ones enjoy their egg hunts, and that the weather is beautiful for each of you.

I wanted to share something Easter with you, however I can't share my April ATC until the ladies in my group get them, so I am going to continue to catch up and share cards that I have created, but which I haven't posted here yet.

I created this card for my sister about a month ago for her birthday.  I wanted to create something simple and classic, so you can guess what I did...I first went to my scrap box and found something that would be the jumping off point for her card.

Lighthouse Birthday

Hey Everyone...Yep its me, I'm totally back again!  I told you I'm on a roll.  Just trying to tie up loose ends before I am off for 4 - 6 weeks.  I will continue to try to blog during this time, however I'll be typing one handed so I warn the blogs may not make sense and there probably won't be many posts...but until then...ENJOY this!

This is another card that I created for part of an order that I was working my way through.  Nautical is totally in, and I absolutely love these colours together, so thought that it would be nice to play on that colour scheme and theme.  Its also been a long time since I used my zig clear colours, so what a perfect image to use these with.  I couldn't be happier with the way that it turned out, and this card is perfect for a guy.

Here's the front of the card...

Here's the side view of the card...
