Ways to Say Thank You Card

Hey there!  I am so excited to be back again with another card to share with you all.  Thank you for stopping by.  

I wanted to share something very simple with you this time.  I wanted the embossing folder to shine through and speak for itself.  I love this folder and how its got Thank You/Thanks in various languages.  I also didn't want to add to much to distract from this, so I added a couple small flowers, and that basically finished off the card.

Again I tried to stick in the same colour family as oranges, and went with a coral for this card, which isn't something I use often, but its for sure a colour that you are going to see me use more of in the future, because it really is so pretty, and such a happy colour.

Supplies Used

Paper Trimmer - used to cut the card base and the embossed background

Tim Holtz Scissors - used to vellum for the front of the card, as well as the double sided tape

Acrylic Block - used to attach the sentiment stamp to in order to help with the stamping of the wording

Bone Folder - used to fold and crease the front of the card base

Heat Tool - used to heat emboss the powder to give the wording a white raised look

EK Success Tweezers - used to help position the flowers onto the card front

Anti Static Powder Tool - used to ensure that the embossing powder only sticks to the embossing ink

I hope that you aren't getting bored of seeing Thank You Cards, as there are going to be some more coming up over the next couple days because like I've mentioned before I am working my way through a couple card orders and some of the cards are thank you cards.  I am making multiples of the cards that you are seeing, and keeping a couple in my stash, because lets be honest, one can never have enough Thank You Cards on hand!

Again for this card I used oranges, and yellows and blacks.  All of which are colours that I don't usually use together, so I thought that I would step outside the box and try something a little bit different!

Orange and Green Thank You

Hey Everyone!  I am totally on a roll today for posting cards, and am very excited to share another Thank You Card with you today!  I am having a lot of fun working with various techniques, colouring mediums and colour schemes to create these cards, and I love how each of them turn out so different.  

For this card I started with colouring this image, and I wanted to colour it with colours that I don't often use, so I gravitated towards coral/orange and green.  I don't love orange, but this colour combo is beautiful.

Then there's this stamp, its been one that I've loved ever since I purchased it.  I think its so versatile and I love how it can be used on so many different kids of cards, and can be coloured so many different ways.

Watercolour Dragonfly Splatter

Hey Everyone! I am back with another card to share with all of you!  I mentioned in my last post that I was going to be sharing a lot of the Thank You cards that I have been putting together for some orders that I'm working my way through. 

The idea for this card came from a card that I had seen on pinterest.  I loved the splatter look on that card, and knew I could create something similar for the card that I was going to be creating.  

I really love how this card turned out.  I love the simplicity of the stamping and the wording, and the tone on tone with the splatter look from the 3 colours of ink I used.  This is a technique that I haven't used that much in the past, but its certainly one that I intend on using again in the future!

For these card...yes thats right I made a couple of these cards, and both are slightly different, so I will share both with you. I just had to used one of my most favourite images.  I just think that this little Hedgehog is so cute.  I started with the pattern paper that you will see in the background and coloured the image to match the papers.

Christmas Card Challenges #4

Hey There!  I hope that all of you are staying warm and able to be creative to try and chase away the winter blues.  For those of you that live in warmer climates, please know that I am incredibly jealous!  

Im back with another card for Christmas Card Challenges #4. 

You need to join us over there, we have so much fun with the challenges, and I continue to be blown away by the cards that are entered. 

The design team is fabulous and I love creating alongside them!

Here's the challenge...

This card was one that was incredibly challenging for me to come up with and design.  I often find it difficult to create a card with gold in it because its not a favourite colour at all.  The inspiration image also made it difficult because there were so many directions that I could have gone with it.  Additionally I didn't think I had any stamps that would work well for it, until I started flipping through my book of stamps, and discovered that actually I had many stamps that would be fitting so along came the challenge of choosing what to do.

Finally I settled on a stamp that I have never used before, and knew that I had gold paper that would compliment it nicely.  

I stamped the image twice and coloured both slightly different, and the image that I chose was actually the one that I initially didn't like...funny how it happens that way.

Its a good sign that you shouldn't ever throw anything out while the creative process is happening because you just never know.  I ended up using both on the front of cards, and made 2 cards instead of 1.

I'll first show your the card that I entered into the challenge, but I will then also show you the second card that I created too.  I would love to know which one you like better.

Monochromatic Flowers

Hey Everyone!  I hope that you aren't getting to sick of me already. I hope that you are going to be seeing a lot more of me in the days to come.  

With the New Year comes Resolutions for a New You.  I don't make personal resolutions, but I do make crafty resolutions.

This year my resolutions are this:

1. Post twice as many blog posts and cards as you did the year before.

2. Play along with more challenges.

3. Ensure that I have enough Christmas cards made that each and every person special to me gets a Christmas card this year. (since I didn't hand out a single handmade Christmas card this past Christmas)

4. Celebrate - A couple years ago I wanted to ensure that each person important to me got a special card for their special day, but it never happened so my goal this year is to ensure that I make cards all year long so that I can celebrate peoples birthdays with them!

5. ATC.  Figure out how to create a mini gallery for my ATC cards that I am creating for a group that I am part of so that all of you can see them.

There are a couple more, but I guess you are going to have to wait to see what 2017 brings for Amanda Fluri Designs (possibly a website?!...we'll see).

I hope that each and every one of you had time to reflect on the ups and downs of 2016 and that each and every one of you make a goal to become a better you in 2017.
