Cupcake Inspirations #301 Challenge

Happy Weekend!  I hope that everyone has had a good week, and for those who have kids who had March/Spring Break I hope that you all got to spend some quality time with your families.  I wanted to share this card with you guys.

I played along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #301 and had a lot of fun with it.

Here's the inspiration photo for the Challenge:

When I saw this I knew that I had the perfect pattern paper for this challenge, and I stumbled across a fairly new stamp set (one I had never used) and knew they would work so well together for this card. I didn't get to celebrate St. Patty's this year as I was not feeling well, but was glad that this challenge at least allowed me to create something St. Patty's related.

Here's the front view of my card...

Here's the side view of my card...

I kept this card fairly simple as with the background there was already a ton going n and I really wanted the wording and the cupcake with the clover to speak for themselves and be the focus of the card.

I won't have time to link to the supplies right now but I will have them posted tomorrow at some time for sure.
I hope that you all have a great weekend and that you enjoy my card!

Stamping Bella Sketch Challenge #5

Hey there!  I wanted to participate in the challenge last week, and while I know that this post is going up late I still wanted to share it with you.  I had a couple Thank You Cards that I wanted to and needed to make and this Challenge let me do just that.

I have really been loving the sketch challenges lately, and am having so much fun seeing what I can create and come up with.

Here's the Sketch Challenge for Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday Challenge that I played along with:

Sketch-5-mar-13 copy

In making this card I decided I was feeling like water colouring but wanted to stick with a Monochromatic theme and I could not have been more happy with the way that it turned out.

I have so many favourite stamps from Stamping Bella, however on of my most favourite ones is the one that I used on this card.  I love how versatile it is!  You can literally find a use for it for so many occasions and you can colour it so many different ways.

Here's the image that I used on the card:

Here's a side view of the card... (Here you can see the dimension that is on this card as well as the fine detail and the many layers to creating this card)

And finally here is the front view of my card...

Supplies Used

Acrylic Block - used for stamping
Mono Multi Glue - used to attach pieces together
Double Sided Tape - used to attach pieces of the card together
Foam Adhesive - used to pop the image up

Top Boss - Embossing Ink for stamping the image in
Wink of Stella - used to add shimmer to the flower
Distress Inks - used to colour the flower

Sheer Ribbon - tied at the bottom of the card (cannot find a source for the exact product as it is scrap, however this is something similar)

The solid pink paper that was used in this card  is from my scrap box so unfortunately no source is available, however any pink would work if you were wanting to create a similar card.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #300

Hey Everyone!  It has been a while since I've been on here and have posted, and Ive been meaning to fix that, so here's a new card for you.

Cupcake Inspiration is celebrating 300 challenges and therefore has 3 different challenges to enter,  I have decided to take part in the colour challenge simply because they are colours that I rarely if ever pair together, and was wanting to challenge myself and see what I could come up with.  Sometimes I find it hard to do something new, or different...I find we stick to what we are comfortable with, and sometimes don't think outside the box to much.  I do however think that if we think outside the box we can create something beautiful and really surprise ourselves.

This is the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge that I took part in:

There is so much that you could do with this challenge.  When I saw it I knew creating a card that I could add to my stock of Birthday cards would be great.  Birthday cards are something you can never have enough of...but Birthday Cards for Boys seem to be hard to keep on hand.

So without further ado here's stye front of the card

Here is the image that I selected...I think he is just the cutest

Heres the side view of the card

Because I can never have enough cards for boys, and like to stock pile cards, I decided to use the scraps that I had to create a couple of the same card

I am pretty proud of this card...I inked the background with a stencil and a couple different colours distress inks, and I love how it turned out!

Supplies

Acrylic Block - tool used for stamping
Paper Trimmer - used to cut the paper
Black Ink - used to stamp the image and sentiment
Letraset Promarkers - used to colour the image
Birthday Monkey - main image on the card
It's Your Birthday - stamp set that the sentiment came from
Stencil - used to ink the background for the card
Distress Ink - used to ink the stencil with for the background
Ribbon - Offray Turquoise
Ribbon - Offray Forest Green
Tags -  used 3 sizes to make the main tag
Circle Dies - used to stamp and matt the sentiment on
Double Sided Tape - used to attach everything together
Foam Adhesive - used to pop the monkey up off the paper
Wink of Stella - used to add shimmer to the bottom of the cupcakes
Glossy Accents - used to add shine to the candy ontop of the cupcake

The coloured Paper (green and blue) are from my stash of scraps, so unfortunately there isn't a link for them.  I think they could be from those Michael's packages of paper.

I hope that you guys enjoy the card, and I will see you all again really soon!

Christmas Card Challenges #11

Happy Weekend!  I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and get to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family.
I just thought before the weekend that I would share another card with you all.
I entered another Christmas challenge this week.  I am really enjoying watching my stash of Christmas Cards growing and am happy to have some beautiful ones to pass out to friends and family this coming Christmas.

This week over at Christmas Card Challenges the theme and inspiration photo was a snowman.  I haven't made a card with snowman in quite a while, so I jumped at the chance to play along with the challenge.

Here's the Challenge/Inspiration Photo:

I had so many stamps that would have been totally appropriate for this weeks theme and I settled on a stamp that I haven't used before.
This is the 2nd time that I have played along with the Christmas Card Challenges, and both times I was able to use product that I owned but never played with before.
I cannot wait to see what I get to play with next week...but for this week here is the card.
I also thought I should mention that I made 2 of these cards that way my stash of Christmas cards grows more rapidly.

Here's a photo of  the image all coloured:
I decided to colour this card with mostly traditional colours and love the end result...

Here's a picture of the completed card:

Here's a picture of the side view of the card:

I once again used quite a bit of scrap product, and continue to surprise myself with how many cards I can make with pieces of paper left over, shapes cut out and laying around, different lengths of ribbon/string that has been cut and wasn't used.  Its amazing how great you end up feeling when you know you are using up materials you own already and the beautiful cards that are the result of that

Supplies Used

Acrylic Block - used to attach the cling stamp to and stamp image
Paper Trimmer - used to cut paper down
Black Ink - used to ink stamp with and stamp image and sentiment in
Mono Multi Glue - used to attach the different snowflakes to the card
Double Sided Tape - used to attach the papers together
Foam Adhesives - used to pop up elements of the card
Quickie Glue - used to attach the loose glitter with
Snowman - main image
Amy R Sentiment - "Happy Holiday" wording
Letraset Promarkers - used to colour the image in
Punch - used for the side of the paper to create a notebook look
Snowflakes - these were in my scrap drawer so I wanted to use them
Tag - used to showcase the sentiment on
Fine Glitter - used on the snow on the image
Gems - used on the centres of the snowflake elements
Wink of stella - used on the image to make it glittery
Bakers Twine - used to tie around the card and create a bow with (Green, White and Red)
110 lb Cardstock - used to for the image and Letraset colouring

The pattern paper is from a retired Recollection Paperpack so unfortunately I wasnt able to locate a source.  The red paper I used as well as the shimmer paper used for the snowflakes were scraps so I don't have a source for them either.  Sorry :(

Merry Monday #146 Challenge

Hey Everyone.
It was nice to have a long weekend and spend time with family and friends, however it threw my schedule off very much with posting of this card.
I am getting this up now, better late than ever.

I am so happy to be entering and playing along again this week with the Merry Monday Challenge.

Here's the Challenge:

This week's theme had me almost stumped.  I went through my stamp catalogue (yes I have all my stamps stamped out in a binder sorted by artist/company) and almost didn't have a stamp that would have been fitting for this challenge, until I came to this one.

I had a ton of colouring to do as this image is very detailed, but I love to colour so it was a ton of fun.  If one card was a lot of colouring, I made 2 almost identical cards to add to my growing stash of Christmas Cards.  I also did some online shopping and my order arrived before making this card, so I actually got to play with a couple of the new things I got. :)

I had coloured the image and then couldn't decide what paper to use, so I took this picture of the papers that were in the running.

I finally settled on paper and couldn't have been more thrilled with the way it turned out.  I also found a few snowflakes in my scrap drawer, and just knew that I had to use them.

Here's a picture of the first card:

Here's a picture of the second card (my favourite):

Here's a side view of my card:

Supplies Used

Acrylic Block - tool used for stamping
Paper Trimmer - used to cut the paper
Black Ink - used to stamp the image

Double Sided Tape - used to attach everything together
Wink of Stella - used to add shimmer to the image
Iridescent Spray - used to add shimmer to the snowflakes

The ribbon, pattern paper, snowflakes (I will look to see if I can find the die cuts that were used for the snowflakes - and post tomorrow) and little gems on the card are all scraps so unfortunately there aren't links for them.

Merry Monday #145 Challenge

This is my second post of the day!
I don't think that has ever happened, but they do say that theres a first for everything.  I had hoped to post this card earlier, but life gets busy and other things pop up needing more immediate attention.  It's here though and isn't to late to play along with the Challenge so yay :)

The Challenge this week over at Merry Monday is to create a Christmas card with Candy Canes.

When I first saw the challenge I didn't think I owned any stamps that had candy canes in them, but then after I looked through my collection I found a couple images that did.  At first I didn't want to use this stamp (the one used for this card) however I though that if I paired him with one of his friends from this stamp set it would look so much better.  Now to find pattern paper that matched...well this was actually an easier task then I had at first thought it would be.  I actually found a couple really good options, but I went with my first find and my gut instinct.

This card is adorable.  I had wanted to use more non traditional Christmas colours however I always seem to go back to the reds and greens and white, because I love them.

Im going to start you off first with the image itself all coloured and ready to go!
I love these little guys.
My markers are running out of ink so the colouring looks a little blotchy.

Here's a view of the card from the front!
