Bellarific Friday Card and MOJO383 Challenge

Well we are halfway through the week.  By this time everyone has undug themselves after the storm that we had here in the Niagara area.  The weather is still cold, and what better way to spend a day off then making some cards with a coffee in hand, a candle and fireplace going, and some incredible challenges to participate in.

For this card I wanted to create something I could enter into a couple different challenges, so I am entering the Mojo Monday 383 Challenge by following along with their sketch this week as well as playing along with the Bellarific Friday Challenge of a Valentine's Card using a Stamping Bella image.

This seems like quite the challenge however once I sat there and decided on the image I was going to work with the rest was easy.  This card yet again is made out of all kinds of scraps that I have laying around.  I have been on a kick to use up my scraps, and this is in sticking with that kick.

The sketch that I designed my card with is:

And like I said earlier the theme from the Bellarific Challenge was Valentines...

So here's my card :)

Merry Monday #144 Challenge

Goodmorning!!
I hope that everyone is staying safe with all this winter weather we are having.  Yesterday in Niagara we had a snow day.  Most stores were closed, the city facilities were close, schools were closed, and so were the banks and such.  It was a PERFECT day for making some cards.  It was also the perfect day to make a card for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.

This week for the challenge the theme:

When I saw this challenge there was automatically an image that came to mind.  It had a bow incorporated into the image, and I generally put a bow on my card somewhere anyways, so I thought that I would do double duty with this challenge.

The idea of these challenges is to get a head start on making Christmas cards for the next year.  I love this challenge because it is going to eliminate a lot of stress come Christmas time because my cards will already be something thats done.  When making cards for the Merry Monday challenges I've gotten myself into the habit of making 2 cards that way I twice as many cards.

Now without further delay here is the card...

I snapped this photo right after I had finished making the card, and I am glad I did because for some reason I cannot seem to take a picture of the front that doesn't turn out to blurry.  This week I decided not to do to much embellishing and use scraps of paper that I have left over from this years Christmas cards, so all of the paper used is scraps, and so are the ribbon pieces.

Here's another shot of the front of the card (however its a tad blurry so I apologize)...

Here's a close up of the image itself.  I wish you could see the glitter on his hat and pompom and the shimmer that I have added to just the bow and ribbon on his gift.

Heres a side view of the card.  This card is pretty flat this time, and the bow is the only thing that adds the dimension.

I love how this card turned out and I love that it is all traditional Christmas colours.

I will attempt to link to the supplies used, but some of the product are scraps and a source may not be able to be located.

Whimsy Stamps - cling stamp used for image
Letraset Promarkers - used for colouring the image
Fishtail Flag Dies - used 3 of the sizes
Pierced Circle Dies - used to cut out the image and the mat for the image
Clear Glitter - on the penguin's hat
Wink of Stella - used on the ribbon and the bow on the penguin's gift
Mono Multi Glue - used for attaching all the pieces together
Happy Holiday - sentiment from a Recollection Wood Mount Set
Ribbon - Offray Kiwi

Paper source is unknown I'm sorry :(

Cannot wait for Merry Monday #145 to see what I get to design next!

Merry Monday #143 Challenge

Hey There!
I am so excited to be entering a card in again for another really fun Merry Monday Challenge.
When I first saw the theme for this weeks challenge, I regretted using the image that I had for Merry Monday #141, but I came across a stamp in my collection that worked equally as well.  If you are coming to my blog either from the challenge page or elsewhere please show me some love in the comment section.  I would love to hear what you think of the card.

Here is the photo for the theme for the challenge.

I am going to do just this!

I decided to attempt to encompass both parts of the challenge, create a card with a music theme and Christmas carollers.
In the past I have been known to go a little crazy with my cards, however for this week I really wanted to keep the card simple, clean and wanted the image to be the focal point because its so stinken cute.

Here it is...
The image itself...

Here's a side view of the card to show the dimensions...

And finally...Here is the front of the card...

I will do my best to link to all the supplies that I used for this card, however not all products may be still available as they are from my stash, and some the source is unknown.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #294

Hey Everyone!
2 posts in a week, this is certainly progress, and I am finding it easier and easier to do.  I stumbled across another challenge several weeks back and wanted to play along, but didn't have a lot of time.  With work being slow after the holidays and some time to myself, I decided that the inspirational picture for this challenge was just to cute not to play along with.

Here it is...

When I first saw this Inspiration picture, I thought to myself, I have to for sure do something for valentines day, and as I sat down and was colouring the image that I finally picked (had help picking the image for this card), the card took on a life of its own, and wanted to be a Birthday card, so that's what it is.

If any of you want to play in the future I suggest heading over to Cupcake Inspiration Blog to join in the fun :)

I took inspiration of the "cupcake" as well as used the colours here, and added in a ribbon because of the little ribbon laying across the picture.

Here it is...
The image itself...

Here's a side view of the card to show the dimension...

And here is the front...

I will post a list of the supplies used tomorrow, as it is fairly late tonight, and I should get to sleep so that I can get up for work tomorrow.

I am so grateful to have had this chance to play along with the fantastic design team at Cupcake Inspirations as well as all the other fabulous ladies who also joined in the fun.

Definitely going to try to ensure that this becomes a weekly thing.

Merry Monday #142 Challenge

Hey Everyone!
I hope that you are all having a fantastic week so far.
Last week I had so much fun playing along with the Merry Monday Challenge that I decided to play along again this week.
That's pretty good.  2 weeks in a row.  My question to myself is why the heck didn't I do this before, because it is way to much fun!

The Challenge this week is to create a card with a house.

I have a lot of stamps which are houses that could have all be totally perfect for this challenge, however the moment that I saw the challenge there was a stamp that popped into my head, and I just couldn't resist using it.  Although it is not your traditional type of house it is a "house".

Just like last week I want to continue to build a stash of Christmas cards, so I created 2 of the same card.  The wording of the cards are done in slightly different colours, but for the most part they are identical.
I hope that you all enjoy my card.

Here's the close up of the image that I used for my card.

Here's the card from a front view.

Here's a side view of the card.
(This view allows you to better see the dimensions)

Here's a shot of the 2 cards.

I will do my best to link to all the supplies that I used for this card, however not all of the products may still be available as they are from my stash.

Supplies

Sweet Christmas - used for the gingerbread house and the wording
Bakers Twine - used along the bottom of the card
Distress Ink - used to water colour
Clear Glitter - used on the roof top, the chimney and the 2 hearts
Pink Paper - pink paper with glittery snowflakes (cannot find a source to link)
Circle Pattern Paper - used for the top strip along the top.
Blue Paper - from my scraps, not sure its original source

Merry Monday #141 Challenge

Today I want to share with you a card that I've made for a challenge that Im entering.

This Christmas I found it a little sad when I did not give out one hand made card, because I made cards for other people to pass out and didn't have any on hand for myself to hand out.  This year will be different, I will start early and build a stash throughout the year that way I have no excuses to not hand out ones Ive made.

I stumbled across a blog that Challenges me to do just this.
Every Monday they post a theme, colour scheme, inspiration photo, or technique/embellishment or sketch that is required on the card, and the rest is up to you to choose.  I am so lucky to have stumbled across this blog because it's going to encourage me to get cards done and give me a deadline, and a friendly competition at the same time.

Once a week I will be posting a Christmas card here that I have entered for the challenge, and thats just one of the things that you can expect from me in the new year.

I don't have to much time today to share with you how I went about Creating this card, however I will do my best to link to the supplies used at the bottom.  Some of the supplies used were from my scrap box so I may not have a link for it.

Here is the front of the card...

Here is a view of the card from the side

To take this one step further, I have decided that for every card that I enter for this challenge I will make doubles.  That way I have more cards on hand.

Supplies Used

Singin So Beautiful - Stamping Bella Image
Letraset Promarkers - used for colouring the images
Bakers Twine - used for the bow.
Clear Glitter - on the cats hats
Stickles - little bells on the cat's collar
Peel Off Sticker - Silver Merry Christmas Wording

Die cut snowflakes and pieces of paper were in my scrap box so I am unsure of where they can be located - SORRY :(

I hope you all enjoyed this card, and I cannot wait to come back with another one.
