Wedding Cards

Happy Tuesday!  Yes it is me I am back again already with another card.

As I previously mentioned there are quite a few reasons for me to do this card challenge.
1. Build a stash
2. Finish card orders that I have been asked to do
3. Start my Christmas cards
4. Be creative every day which will help me relax and clear my head.
5. Strengthen my wrist after surgery and make small attempts at rehabbing my injury myself.
...just to name a few...

Todays card is Wedding Cards.  I created 4 of the same card.  The reason for doing this is so that I could put 2 in an order that I am working through as well as adding 2 to my personal stash so that I am able to have them on hand ready for when I need them.

This card again was another card that was made all from scraps, and things that I already had cut out. I am loving creating Something from Nothing.  This in itself is something else that I have been working hard to challenge myself to do frequently to use up the older things before playing with the newer things.

I wanted to create something classic as well as elegant, so I decided to keep my colours VERY traditional.  I haven't made a lot of wedding cards, so thought that it would be nice to change it up and do something different for a change.

Here is the front of the card...

Here's a side view of the card...

Supplies Used...

Paper Trimmer - used to cut the background layers and the the sentiment
Tim Holtz Scissors - used to cut the ribbons
EK Success Powder Tool - used to add anti stick powder to the background to ensure embossing powder sticks to only the places its wanted
Heat Tool - used to melt the embossing powder for the wording
Silver Embossing Powder - used to make the sentiment silver
Stampability Wording - stamp used to put the sentiment on the card
Sizzix Flourish Dies - used to cut the flourishes and positioned them behind the hearts.
Heart Dies - the ones I used are from 2 separate die sets, however I cannot find links for either so I have linked to something similar
Embossing Ink - used to stamp the wording in for the embossing powder to stick to
Cuttle Bug Machine - used to cut the hearts and the flourishes
2 sided tape - used to adhere various layers of the card to the card base.
foam adhesive - used to adhere the hearts and add dimensions to the card.
ranger matte medium - used to attach the elements to the hearts.
EK Success Tweezers - used to position the pieces on the card
Clear/Silver Gems - used to but buttons on the Bride Heart
White Card Stock - used to stamp the sentiment on
Black Card Stock - used to cut out the flourishes and the mats.

Because the paper was all scraps, and the silver pieces (rectangles) attached to the black rectangles were in my scrap box I am unable to source the exact paper.

Additionally...the ribbon pieces are also scraps, so I am not able to source them either.

Bellarific Friday 2.0

Hey everyone!
I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend and that October is treating you well.
Where I live we have had a lot of rain and the weather is cooling down, which is helping my creativity and my want to be in my scrap nook!

Today is Day 3 of my challenge, and I just can't get enough of this Stamping Bella challenge.  Yesterday I posted a card (you can see it here) for the challenge, and I thought that I would do another one for today.  You truly do forget how much you enjoy something until you haven't done it for a while, and when you do it again, it brings you so much joy.

That being said I decided that I would play along with the challenge again today.  The challenge is Free Form - so basically anything goes.

In the past I created a card somewhat similar to this card.  I went through my stash and some of the elements were the same as one I have made before so I decided to run with the scraps and the pieces and design this card.

I started as I do most of the time with the papers or a pattern paper with lots of colours, and then I build the card from there.

Here's the front of the card...(I apologize for the poor quality of the photo).

Here's the side view of the card...

Here's the image that I used on the card...

Amy R Stamps - All Women Sentiments (stamp set is retired sorry)
Letraset Promarkers - used to colour the image.
Cuttlebug Machine - tool used to cut out the circles and oval with the pierced edges.
Die-namics Pierced Circle STAX - used to cut the circles on the card
Die-namics Pierced Oval STAX - used to cut out the main image into an oval
Doodlebug Sprinkles - Embellishments on the card
Wink of Stella (clear) - used to add shimmer to the image.
Ribbon - used to add a silky texture and shimmery finish to the card.
110lb cardstock - used to stamp the image onto.
Purple cardstock - used to stamp the sentiment onto
Pattern paper - from my scrap box (unsure of the source)

Please come back and visit me again tomorrow...any guesses as to what the theme tomorrow will be?

Bellarific Friday

Hello again!  I hope that everyone is enjoying the cooler weather as much as I have been.
My personal challenge for October is to create a card every day of the month.  I have been doing just that thus far, however it seems as though my scheduled posts aren't going live when I schedule them to do so.  Therefore I will just have to blog and then post immediately after.

For this card I thought I would play along with a challenge.  It has been a while since I have been able to play along, so I am very excited to get back at it.  It's amazing how much I've missed it, and how much excitement I get from creating a card to fit the challenge.

The challenge this week is anything goes at Stamping Bella.
The only requirement is that I have to use a current Stamping Bella Stamp...this is sooooo easy, as Stamping Bella has some of my most favourite stamps.  Actually Day 1 of my personal challenge for October (you can see it here.) was created with Stamping Bella stamps too.

I started with selecting my image, and then from there selected my pattern paper so that I knew what colours to use when I coloured this image.  The pieces of scraps were from my scraps drawer, and I love how it all came together.  Even the embellishments worked perfectly with the colours of this card.

Here is the front of the card...

Here is a side view of my card...

Stamping Bella Jayden Loves to journal - used as the main image for this card.
EK Success Binding Edge - used on the mat of the main image.
Corner Rounder - used to round the edges not he purple pattern paper.
110lb Copic Cardstock - used to stamp the main image on.

Welcome Baby

Hello everyone!  I had said that for October my goal was to post a new card each day.  I think this will come in very handy with Christmas coming and me trying to finish off some card orders for other people.  Yesterday was the 1st day of the month however my scheduled post seems to be missing and appears to not have posted, so here I am having to retype it.

For those of you who know me know that there have been a lot of baby things happening around me. My niece recently turned 4 months, my boyfriends brother and his girlfriend had twin boys a couple weeks ago and a bunch of my friends are expecting.  So naturally because of baby fever I've been working on baby cards because I need to make sure I have some on hand.

This post is not one but 2 cards.  Both cards started from scraps in my scrap box and evolved from there.  In the supplies used section I will link to as many materials as possible, however because some are scraps I don't have links for some items.

The image used for each was already cut out and coloured.  The little outfit she's holding and her dress were incomplete.  I had the 2 colours of onesies already stamped and in my drawer so I thought it would be perfect to build a card based on that.  The solid coloured circles and rings were already cut out as were some of the background pieces, so making these cards came together pretty fast.  I used my favourite baby paper packs for the paper and was able to make some amazing cards.

Here's a front view of each of the cards...

Here's a side view of each of the cards...

Im Back Finally

Hey Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I've been on here or posted anything, but I am working my way back. A lot has happened since I last posted...My sister had her baby so I officially became and Auntie. Also, I underwent a couple different surgeries this summer I had my tonsils out and last week I had surgery on my carpal tunnel.  Now that I am feeling better and my hand is on the mend, I am so excited to get back into my happy place and design some beautiful new things.  I am working on a couple contracts for Baby Shower card orders, and assorted cards, and I'm sure I'll be working on Christmas cards for friends and family also.

I am so excited to be back!  Stay tuned for some new things tomorrow.

Bellarific Friday Challenge!

Hey Ladies!  I am so happy to be back with you sharing another card.  I has been a while since I was able to post this frequently, but as I said I will be able to post a little more frequently now that some of the craziness in my life is settling down.

I decided to play along with the Bellarific Challenge this week and because I'm so engrossed in my sisters Baby Shower and the things that go along with it I thought it would be fitting to share a couple more baby themed cards that I made for some upcoming showers that I will be attending.

The Challenge over at Stamping Bella this week is to create a card using either a ribbon or washi tape.  I often struggle to create a card using washi tape, partly because I don't have very many to play with, but also because I just love tieing bows, and love how a silky ribbon just finishes off a card...especially baby cards.

I started these cards with selecting some pattern papers first and then I decided to colour the images accordingly so that they matched the papers.  I usually find that I have the greatest success and the card is very put together when doing it this way.

Here's the fronts of the cards that I did for a couple people who don't know yet if they are having a boy or a girl, and some whom are leaving it be a surprise.

I just love the pattern papers in this paper pack and thought It was a great way to play with these papers, and found a couple polkadot papers that were in my scrap bin that matched perfectly too.

Here's the fronts of the girl cards that I did for a couple friends who are having a girl.  (My sister included)

This one didn't make it into the group picture... made 4 of them.

I don't know what it is but I also really love these pattern papers too.  I just couldn't get enough, and had to play with some of the scraps that matched too.

I am still working on the ones for boys, and will update this post with them once they are done.  I just couldn't help myself.  I was on such a roll, and had to play along with this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and check out my cards.

Baby Shower Invitations for my sister

Hey All! It has been a while since I have been on here, and for that I truly do apologize.  It's been pure chaos in my life currently, there is so much going on.  I am going to be able to get on here a lot more often in the coming months, because I will be off due to surgery, and fully plan on spending a good portion of my recovery time designing more cards, and relaxing in bed while blogging!  I hope that you don't get sick of me.

I wanted to share with you a rather large project that I have been working on (part of the reason that I have been away for so long).  I have been planning and preparing for my sisters baby showers.  She is having 2 one for family (since we have a rather large extended family), and one for the ladies at our church and close friends.  We have already had 1 of her showers, and the next one is in May.  There is a good chance that the baby will be here before her family shower which would be fun :)

I had the privilege of making her baby shower invites, and because of the sizes of our family and friends group I actually designed and put together 108 baby shower invitations.

The idea was born from her bedding (colours and elephant pattern).  I just thought that this would be a great way for people to see what colours she was going to be doing the nursery in as well as her theme of elephants.  My boyfriend was a huge help when I needed some mental math done to figure out how many of each sheet of paper to purchase for these invites as well as he was a champ working the cuttle bug and helped me cut out a ton of dies!  He's so good to me!

I'm going to start with showing you the papers that I selected...
