Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes - Day 24

 Hey Everyone!  

I am so excited to be sharing with you the card for Day 24.  

I hope that by the end of tomorrow I will be all caught back up with the month of posts, so that I can start November with a new challenge and series.  

For this card I decided that I would play along with Christmas Card Challenges.  The challenge over there is "Anything Goes".  

So I thought that I would visit my Christmas Scrap Box for the pieces for this card.  I couldn't be happier with the way that this card turned out, and to think that it was made out of all scraps. 

I did also create 4 of these cards.  Each is coloured slightly different (placement of colours are different) and the paper colours, and the colour of the wording is different too.  Love starting my stash again for next Christmas

Merry Monday Challenge #219 - Day 23

Hey Everyone!  I am back again with a card for Day 23 of the October Challenge.  I know that I am a little behind on the posting, but I'm working at getting caught back up.  Its going to take some time but I'll get there.

As some of you know over the last 2 years I have struggled with feeling in my hand and numb fingers as a result of a work injury which occurred a little over 2 years ago.  Just a little over a month I had surgery to repair some of the damaged nerves in my hand as well as my carpal tunnel surgery.  My hand is almost nearly heeled (minus some pains still), so I am so happy to be getting back into playing along with some of the challenges that in the past I have really enjoyed.

I designed this card to play along with the challenge over at Merry Monday.  When I saw the challenge I knew that I had a stamp that was perfect for this challenge, and I just knew that I had to play along.

 

I started with the image, and then built the card off of it.  The pattern paper that I used were scraps from my stash and I was able to use pieces of bakers twine that were also in my scrap box.  The stickers that I used for the wording were in my stash and there weren't that many left, so I guess they are like scraps too.

Day 22 - Mermaid Birthday Card

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I’ve been away the last couple days.  

It’s been busy around here, and I’ve had some last minute projects just sort of dropped in my lap, so trying to do them and stay on track for everything else.  

Today I want to share with you a Birthday Card that I made.  I know I said I was going to stay away from Birthday cards for a little, but I was playing with this stamp set and just couldn’t resist, it’s to stinken cute.  

I also thought that I would play along with the Challenge at Seize the Birthday, because why not?!

You'll see these stamps again on an order of baby shower invites that I'm making and will be posting at a later date once they are all complete. As far as this card goes...the little mermaid that I used on this card was just the sweetest, I thought she would be perfect to finish off the last card in an assorted bundle order that I’ve been working my way through.  I must admit it is totally perfect for a card for a little girl, and the wording in this stamp set is just the cutest play on words.

I'm back again.  I hope that we continue to meet like this.  I am getting myself back on track and trying to post the cards that I have finished for my October Challenge.   I tried to stick to my word and take a break from Birthday and Wedding.  Day 22 is going to be Birthday and then you are going to see some CHRISTMAS starting.  I will also fill you all in on my big news within the next couple days - I promise that you aren't going to want to miss it!

As for todays card I'm going to share something with you that I haven't shared on here ever I don't think.  I spent time looking for pattern paper with keys, as I could have sworn that I had one, but couldn't seem to find it.  I then remembered that I had a really cool stamp that I could use for a pretty cool background.  I absolutely love how this card turned out.  It is simple, classic and very flat.  Usually I go for something with layers, and with different levels of dimensions, but I stepped outside the box and love the end result.

I also used a sticker for this card, because it was perfect for the look I was going for.

Bon Voyage - Day 20

Hey Everyone!  I am back again with my card from Day 20.  I am excited to not be sharing a birthday  card with you and a type of card that I haven't made in a very long time. 

This card is a Bon Voyage and Travel Theme.  

I have had this stamp for a very long time and have only used it a couple times.  I figured because I was on sort of a masculine theme with the last couple cards that I would sort of keep this one very gender neutral. 

It is very simple, and some of the pieces of it are from my scrap box so it was neat to see it all come together.  For those who haven't visited my blog before, I should let you know that I find great satisfaction of making a beautiful card out of things that are scraps.  My scraps range from pieces of paper that I have cut into before but pieces that remain, to things that were stamped previously (coloured or not), pieces that were cut with dies or embossed with the cuttlebug, or even pieces of left over ribbons.  So it is pretty exciting for me to be able to create something new out of something old in a sense.

Day 19 - Father's Day Card

Hey Everyone!  I know that some of you may be getting tired of Birthday cards so I thought that I would change it up.  As mentioned before I am working my way through a couple different orders of cards for some of my friends, and this order is an assorted bunch of cards (30 to be exact).  In this order I thought that I would include a Father's Day card. 

So here it is...

I started first by colouring the image, and then paired it with pieces of scrap papers that I had in my scrap box.  I pulled out my Prisma coloured Pencil Crayons because I wanted to play with them some more and work on getting comfortable blending and working with the gamsol and blending stumps. With it being Fall here and the temperatures changing, I thought that I would use kraft colours, and some warmer (fall like) colours. I again personalized this card with some sticker letters for the wording on the soccer ball, and used a layout that I used not long ago on a Birthday Card, because I really like how it looks all put together.

9th Birthday Card - Day 18

Hey Everyone!  Thanks for visiting me for day 18 of my October Card Challenge.  I know I am still behind, but I'm going to spend tonight getting the cards up to date on here.  I have still been making a card a day, I just wish there were more hours in the day so that I would have more time to do everything that needs to get done.

Today I am going to be sharing with you a 9th Birthday Card.  The card was made for my boyfriends Nephew who will be turning 9.  Last year I made him a hockey card, which was toronto maple leaf themed, so this year I needed to get creative, and I thought that maybe a card with a car on it might be cool for him.  As I began looking for papers that would work with the car that I coloured I stumbled across ALOT of papers for boy/guy cards.  I don't remember purchasing them, but now that I know that I have them believe me there will be a lot more male birthday cards coming your way.  

I used a lot of scraps from my stash to create this card...in fact each and every one of the arrows was already cut out and ready and waiting to end up on a card.  Something else that I really enjoy doing is creating a personalized card, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to add his name and how old he was turning to the card.
